Form Deck

Form deck (sometimes called pan decking) is a type of metal deck that acts as a permanent form for a structural concrete slab. Unlike composite metal deck, form deck does not contribute to the structural strength of the slab and is not designed to act as reinforcement.

It serves as a platform for pouring concrete and remains in place after the concrete cures.

• Form deck is often used in construction projects when a simple, cost-effective solution for supporting a concrete slab is needed.
• Form deck is frequently used in commercial construction for floors and roofs, just like composite metal deck.
• The profile depends on factors such as the span requirement, loading, depth of slab required and cost considerations.
• Because form deck is not structurally engaged with the concrete, does not typically have composite metal deck embossments.
• Form deck is typically galvanized but can be painted as it does not rely on a bond with the concrete for its structural function.

Non-Embossed Form Deck Profiles

Non-Embossed deck profiles are the same profiles as composite deck, however we DO NOT emboss the coil, thus these profiles do not not contribute to the structural strength, however are able to act as a permanent form. These form profiles allow for more concrete than the standard form deck profiles.
